Support for VMware ESXi 4.0 U3 and VMware ESXi 4.0 U4.

The following are the supported configurations for the HP ESXi offline Bundle for Vmware ESXi 4.0 Update 2.

Configuration 1:

1. Install the VMware ESXi 4.0 Update 2

2. Install HP ESXi Offline Bundle for ESXi 4.0 Update 2

Configuration 2:

From any valid pre-ESXi 4.0 Update 2 starting point (HP or VMware version), regardless of previous offline bundle installations:

1. Upgrade to the VMware ESXi 4.0 Update 2 (using the VMware upgrade package)

2. Install the HP ESXi Offline Bundle for VMware 4.0 Update 2

Note:Offline Bundle's from other VMware ESXi versions are not supported on 4.0 Update 2


Support for ESXi 4.0 U2.

  • Fixed issue with Smart Array controller status being incorrectly shown as "degraded" in VMware vSphere client when the controller does not have cache module.

Fixed in this release:

Collection of Memory Board and Memory Module properties and health status from a DL785 G5 server is very slow and could time out 

  • When using HP WBEM providers (version 02.02.06) for ESXi 4.0 on a DL785 G5 server, querying properties or health status for Memory Boards and Memory Modules properties might cause a time out.
  • The client software might hang while waiting for the remote ESXi host server to return the requested information.
  • This issue might affect other server models when the DIMM slots are fully populated.
      Enhancements
 

Updated HP VMware ESXi 4.0 CIM providers allow collection information on:

  • Smart Array Provider – Smart Array controller, external storage enclosure, internal drive cage, data and spare drive and logical volume information.
  • Networking Providers – Ethernet ports, statistics, port link status, IP and MAC addresses.
