This package contains utilities that can be used to update the Intel Management
Engine (ME) Firmware on the supported desktop models with a 786F1 system BIOS.
Several methods for updating the ME firmware may be chosen. Included in this
package are the following methods:
- The DOS utility updates the Intel ME firmware for the local machine in a DOS
environment, and also verifies that the firmware has been updated.
- The Microsoft Windows utility updates the Intel ME firmware of the local
machine in a Microsoft Windows environment, and also verifies that the firmware
has been updated.
NOTE: The AMT 3.2 ME firmware image is only intended for HP Compaq dc7800 PC
configurations. This SoftPaq does NOT include a system BIOS image. However, it
is recommended that the system BIOS be updated to the latest version (1.24 or
later) before upgrading the ME firmware. Once the ME firmware is updated to
this new image, it CANNOT be re-flashed to an older ME firmware version
(meaning you CANNOT restore it to a 3.0 AMT version).
