| This SoftPaq contains an XIP (Execute In Place) Cab file which replaces the Miscellaneous OEM region of the ROM Image on your iPAQ Pocket PC h5500 Series. This is a permanent update to the flash ROM.
IMPORTANT: This XIP update is designed to replace the Miscellaneous OEM region of your ROM image. It is important for you to read and understand the information in the Readme file included with this update.
This XIP Update does not change the ROM version. To confirm a successful XIP update, check the versions of the individual components by clicking Start, Settings, System, Asset Viewer and looking for the following versions --
- Wireless LAN Driver Version 3.2.2.123
- Fingerprint Software Version 3.7
- Bluetooth Driver Version 1.4.1.58
NOTE: The WLAN Driver Update does not include the LEAP User interface. The LEAP user interface will need to be installed separately. It is available in a separate SoftPaq on the www.hp.com support and drivers page.
If the Regional Settings are changed to other languages other then the default language of the device, the Firmware Update will not complete and give the error message "This update is language specific. Please visit the HP website and verify that you have downloaded the correct update."
