This package provides the Intel Rapid Storage Technology (RST) Driver that enables the Intel Storage Controller. The RST driver, which is the new Intel Hard Drive Storage Driver, includes Microsoft Windows 7 TRIM command support for solid state drives (SSDs), as well as adding support for new hard drives with 4-KB sectors (also known as 4K hard drives). NOTE: If your HP Notebook currently uses the Intel Matrix Storage Manager (MSM) Driver, you can choose to stay with the MSM driver or you can update to the RST driver. The RST driver must be used in order to take advantage of the new enhancements.
