| The WMI Mapper makes it possible to retrieve WMI instrumented data on a Microsoft Windows supported system via Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM) requests. This is particularly useful when Microsoft Windows supported systems are being managed from an HP-UX or Linux version of HP Systems Insight Manager (which cannot communicate via WMI). The Microsoft Windows version of HP Systems Insight Manager installs this WMI Mapper locally so that it can make WMI requests across the network to the devices without the need to install the WMI Mapper on the managed Windows devices. This softpack allows the WMI Mapper to be installed on any Microsoft Windows supported system to facilitate the proxy requests.
