| ProLiant Support Packs represent operating system (OS) specific bundles of ProLiant optimized drivers, utilities, and management agents. ProLiant Support Packs provide customers with a ProLiant system software baseline that has already been tested and verified by HP. Users can standardize upon a particular release of a ProLiant Support Pack as a base level for the servers throughout their environment. In addition to the baseline capabilities inherent with ProLiant Support Packs, HP provides tools that make deploying the software updates to ProLiant servers throughout the environment easy. For the Microsoft Windows Server Server 2008 and Server 2008 for x64 Editions environment, we provide a deployment utility named HP Smart Update Manager which allows customers to deploy software updates delivered within ProLiant Support Packs to remote servers on a one to many basis. The HP Smart Update Manager is automatically downloaded as part of the ProLiant Support Pack.
