HP LaserJet and Color LaserJet Printers, MFPs, and All-in-Ones - Products supported or with delayed support in OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion)
Supported products
Most HP LaserJet printers, Multifunction products, and All-in-Ones are supported. If your product was supported with OS X 10.6 (Snow Leopard) or OS X 10.7 (Lion), it should continue to be supported with OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion).
You can use Apple Software Update (ASU) now to obtain the latest HP driver for OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion).
Use Apple Software Update (ASU) to get the HP driver for OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion)
The HP driver update for OS X 10.8 (Mountain Lion) and most HP printers is available now from Apple Software Update (ASU). If you have an existing Macintosh computer with an HP printer already set up and you upgrade to OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion using ASU, your HP driver and software should continue to function normally.

Products with AirPrint-only now and delayed Apple Software Update (ASU) support
If the HP software was previously installed on OS X 10.6 or OS X 10.7, the drivers and software should continue to work after the upgrade to OS X 10.8 Mountain Lion. If the HP software was not previously installed, you must use Apple Software Update (ASU) except for some supported products that do not yet have an update available through ASU. These products do not have a driver available for download at
www.hp.com/go/support
but will have a driver in ASU in early Fall 2012. In the meantime, use Apple's Airprint with the following products to print on a network until the driver becomes available:

AirPrint is not supported via a USB connection.
If you are connected via USB, you might try using the software created for the product for OS X 10.7 until the latest driver becomes available in Apple Software Update. |
