HP is not releasing an HP ESX/ESXi customized image for VMware ESX/ESXi 4.0 U4. If an HP ProLiant server requires an HP customized image, install the HP ESXi 4.0 U2 or HP ESX/ESXi 4.0 U3 customized images and then upgrade to VMware ESX/ESXi 4.0 U4. The HP ESXi 4.0 U2 and HP ESXi 4.0 U3 customized images are located at the following URL:

The following HP offline bundles will be supported with VMware ESXi 4.0 U4:

HP ESXi Offline Bundle for VMware ESXi 4.0 U3 Version 1.6
HP ESXi Offline Bundle for VMware ESXi 4.0 U2 Version 1.4

The following HP offline bundle will be supported with VMware ESX 4.0 U4:

HP Management Agents for VMware ESX 4.x Only (Not ESXi 4.x) Version 8.7.0

When deploying a new VMware ESX 4.0 host using HP Insight Rapid Deployment (RDP) software or another scripted installation mechanism, the HP ESX 4.0 U3 customized image may be needed. Upgrade to VMware ESX 4.0, if there are devices that are not supported by the in-box drivers for the primary network or storage adapters.
