HP Scanjet 4370 Photo Scanner - Install the Windows 7 solution created for a similar product to enable full feature scan software
Introduction
Although there is not a Windows 7 specific full solution created for this product, as a workaround (for this product only) Windows 7 users can install the full feature software and driver created for the HP Scanjet G3010 Photo Scanner
to provide full software functionality in Windows 7 for the HP Scanjet 4370 Photo Scanner.

The solution described below is an as-is fix that provides full functionality in most cases. This is a limited fix and some features may not support the complete capabilities of the scanner and may not work as desired. This solution is provided for those users looking for more functionality than the Basic driver provides (when available) or for a workaround when no Windows 7 solution is available. |

to the HP Scanjet 4370 Photo Scanner.
Workaround
If the basic driver or an older version of the HP 4370 software is currently installed, first uninstall the HP Scanjet 4370 Photo Scanner software and restart the computer. Then, connect the computer to the HP Scanjet 4370 Photo Scanner and then download and install the Vista Windows 7 full feature solution for the HP Scanjet G3010 Photo Scanner.
Step one: Uninstall HP software

HP recommends that you first remove existing HP Scanjet software before installing the latest HP software or driver to ensure that all of the latest fixes and updates are installed correctly for the newer version. |
Disconnect the USB cable from the product. For scanners on a network, skip this step.
Click Start
, click Control Panel
, click Programs
, and then select Uninstall a program
.
Uninstall all HP programs associated with the device.
Check whether any of the following programs are listed:

NOTE:

Do not remove any HP items other than those mentioned above if the computer is manufactured by HP or Compaq. |
For each program listed, click the program name and then click Uninstall
.
Wait while the computer reboots.

NOTE:

Uninstalling HP Photosmart Essentials and/or HP Solution Center will force the system to reboot. If for some reason a reboot does not occur automatically, restart the computer before continuing. |
Step two: Download and Install the HP Vista Full Feature Software and Driver
Go to
www.hp.com/go/support
, click Drivers & Software, type HP Scanjet G3010 Photo Scanner
in the Search field, and then click Search
. |

You might need to select the product model from a list of search results. |
Select your software/driver language and then select Microsoft Windows 7
.

This solution applies to both 32-bit and 64-bit operating systems. |
Under the Driver section, locate the full feature software.

This download contains the required software with full features needed to scan pictures, documents, and film, and contains HP Photosmart software to manage, edit, and share images. Due to the size of this download, please allow enough time for the download to complete and do not interrupt the download process.If you are using a dial-up connection, HP recommends that you order this software on CD. You can do this by locating the option under the Order Physical Media section and following the provided instructions. |
Click Download
and click Run
.
When instructed, connect the USB cable to the HP Scanjet 4370 Photo Scanner and to the computer, and then follow the onscreen instructions to complete the installation.
