HP LaserJet, Color LaserJet, and LaserJet AiO/MFP Products - Products not supported or with limited support in OS X 10.7 (Lion)


Introduction
Most HP LaserJet printers, Multifunction products, and All-in-Ones are supported in OS X 10.7 (Lion).
The HP driver update for Lion and most HP printers can be obtained using the Apple Software Update.
NOTE: Remember to turn on the printer and connect to the internet before using Apple Software Update (ASU).
A few products, however, have limited software support in Lion and some older HP LaserJet products are not supported in Mac OS X.
Products not supported
The following products are not supported in Mac OS X including the Lion operating system:
  • HP Color LaserJet CP1210, CP1215, and CP1217 Printer series
  • HP Color LaserJet 1500 and 1600 Printer series
  • HP LaserJet II and II Plus Printer series
  • HP LaserJet III Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 4, 4L, 4L Pro, 4LC, 4LJ, 4P, 4Pj, 4 Plus, and 4V Printer series
    NOTE: While most of the LaserJet 4 series products are not supported, the LaserJet 4m, 4mp, 4mL, and 4si printers ARE supported.
  • HP LaserJet 5, 5L, 5N, 5P, and 5se Printer series
    NOTE: While most of the LaserJet 5 series products are not supported, the LaserJet 5m, 5mp, and 5si printers ARE supported.
  • HP LaserJet 6, 6L, 6L Pro, and 6P Printer series
    NOTE: While most of the LaserJet 6 series products are not supported, the LaserJet 6mp printer IS supported.
  • HP LaserJet 500 Plus Printer
  • HP LaserJet 1000, 1005, 1006, and 1008 Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 1018 Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 1020 and 1020 Plus Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 1100 Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 1100A All-in-One Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 2000 Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 3100 and 3150 All-in-One Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 9055mfp and 9065mfp
If your product is NOT listed here, your product may have print-only, no scan support via ASU .
If your product IS listed here, you may be eligible for a trade-in allowance you can use toward the purchase of any new HP printer and more. To find out whether your product is eligible, go to HP Trade-In Program page (www.hp.com/go/tradein), select Printer - Laser from the Product category list, select the trade-in quantity, and then click >> . You might also consider an upgrade to a newer HP product that will work with Macintosh's new operating system.

Products with NO scan, print-only support from ASU
The following older products have print-only support with no scan software in Lion:
  • HP Color LaserJet 2800, 2820 and 2840 All-in-One Printer series
  • HP LaserJet M1120 and M1319 Multifunction Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 1220 All-in-One Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 3015, 3020, and 3030 All-in-One Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 3050, 3052, and 3055 All-in-One Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 3200 All-in-One Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 3300, 3310, 3320, and 3330 Multifunction Printer series
  • HP LaserJet 3380, 3390, and 3392 All-in-One Printer series
If you have one of these products, use Apple Software Update (ASU) to obtain print-only functionality in Lion. You will need to use the control panel to scan.
