HP Color LaserJet CM1015 and CM1017 MFP Series - Install a print driver on a Windows 7 computer (32-bit and 64-bit) using Windows Vista compatibility mode

Introduction
Windows 7 users can use this document to find out how to obtain a solution when drivers were not built into the Windows operating system (OS), were not provided in Windows Update, and/or when a product-specific driver is not available.
Some HP product software created for the Windows Vista operating system can be run on a Windows 7 PC in compatibility mode to enable product software functionality. This document applies to HP Color LaserJet CM1015 and CM1017 Multifunction Products (MFPs) only.
For other product instructions on how to Install a print driver on a Windows 7 computer using Windows Vista compatibility mode, go to the following links:
What you need to know
The Universal Print Driver (UPD) for the HP Color LaserJet CM1015 and CM1017 Multifunction Products might not be the best driver choice for this product because UPDs are typically print-only . There are no product-specific Windows 7 print/scan drivers available for this product.
While these products do not have a Windows 7-specific solution, you can run the HP product software created for the Windows Vista operating system on a Windows 7 PC in compatibility mode to enable full product software functionality.
This is the recommended Windows 7 solution to obtain the most software features for the HP Color LaserJet CM1015 and CM1017 MFPs.
How to run HP printer software for Vista on a Windows 7 computer
To install software (from either the product CD or online download) for the HP Color LaserJet CM1015 and CM1017 MFPs, first locate the software and then run the Vista full solution software on the Windows 7 PC in Windows Vista compatibility mode (32-bit or 64-bit).
