DESCRIPTION

Installation of the earlier versions of the RAID driver for systems described in the "Scope" may fail with the following message:

ERROR
File \x86\ahcix86.sys caused an unexpected error (18) at line 2113 in d:\xpsprtm\base\boot\setup\oemdisk.c
SCOPE

Information in this document applies to the listed systems configured as follows:

Systems:

  • HP Compaq dc5750 Microtower PC
  • HP Compaq dc5750 Small Form Factor PC

Operating Systems:

  • Microsoft Windows XP Home Edition
  • Microsoft Windows XP Professional
  • Microsoft Windows XP 64-Bit Edition
RESOLUTION

The following SoftPaq updates the ATI RAID drive and resolves the issue:

ATI RAID Driver for Microsoft Windows XP , Version 2.5.1540.47, Revision B or later.

NOTE
To download SoftPaqs:

Click link for the appropriate Business Desktop PC model.
  1. Click the Download drivers and software link.
  2. Click the link for the appropriate operating system.
  3. Click the Driver - Storage link.
  4. Click the SoftPaq link: ATI RAID Driver for Microsoft Windows XP.
  5. Read the instructions and release notes carefully before proceeding.
  6. Click the Download button to download the SoftPaq.
NOTE
The SoftPaq/software is subject to change without notice. If, following the instructions above, you find a later version than the one indicated in this document, HP recommends using that later version instead.
