The communication outlines the upcoming support for the ProLiant Essentials Foundation Pack and highlights What’s New for SmartStart Version 7.91.

Microsoft® Windows®
-
SmartStart Version 7.91 is the last release that contains the Microsoft® Windows® 2000 ProLiant Support Pack (PSP). Windows 2000 PSP has not been updated since Version 7.60, but will continue to be available on hp.com for download.

SmartStart and Microsoft® Windows®2003 PSP Version 7.91 provide the baseline support for the following drivers and utilities. Therefore, these drivers and utilities will not be included in the next release of Windows 2003 PSP or SmartStart assisted install:

HP Systems Insight Manager and ProLiant Essentials Value Packs
Vulnerability and Patch Management Pack
Vulnerability and Patch Management Pack (VPM) is no longer available on the HP Management CD. However, it is available at

and requires HP Systems Insight Manager 5.1 or later.
Performance Management Pack
Performance Management Pack (PMP) is no longer available on the HP Management CD. The latest version can be downloaded from

and requires HP Systems Insight Manager 5.1 or later.
HP ProLiant Essentials Virtualization Management Software 2.2
Looking to deploy virtualization technology? Get the most out of server virtualization by unifying the management and migration of physical and virtual server resources from HP Insight Systems Manager. The Virtual Machine Management Pack (VMM) provides central management and control of VMware and Microsoft virtual machines. The Server Migration Pack (SMP) automates the manual processes required for migrating servers between physical or virtual platform (P2V, V2P, and V2V).
Five 60-day VMM licenses are available with five free SMP licenses
REASON FOR CHANGE
Foundation Pack Version 7.91 adds support for newly released HP ProLiant ML/DL 300 and 500 series servers and HP ProLiant BL server blades.
IMPACT OF CHANGE
Adds support and functionality for newly released servers, as well as updates the Foundation Pack.
