DESCRIPTION
The
Getting Started
CD shipped with HP iPAQs manufactured before March 2007 contains the Microsoft ActiveSync software that fails to load on a computer running Windows Vista.
SCOPE
Windows Mobile Device Center supports the following features/versions of Windows Mobile:

Microsoft Windows Mobile 2003 RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION
Microsoft ActiveSync will not load on a computer with Windows Vista. Instead, download and install Windows Mobile Device Center (WMDC) to synchronize information between HP iPAQ and a computer running with the Windows Vista operating system.
NOTE: Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center replaces Microsoft ActiveSync in a computer running with Windows Vista. All the features available in Microsoft ActiveSync, including synchronization with the computer, are functional in Microsoft Windows Mobile Device Center.
Customers using computers running with Windows Vista operating system will need to install WMDC on their computer to synchronize information with the device. For more information on downloading and installing WMDC, check the document

NOTE: Windows Vista does not support Pocket PC 2002 and earlier versions. Devices with Pocket PC 2002 and earlier versions must continue using computers with Windows XP or earlier operating systems.
