HP Compaq dc7700 Desktop PC Series - Unknown PCI Serial Port in Windows Device Manager ISSUE: After installing a custom image of Windows XP with SP2 an unknown device pointing to a PCI serial port is showing in Device Manager. The unknown device has one of the following PCI device IDs: pci\ven_8086%dev_2997%subsys_2801103c&rev_02\3&b1bfb68&0&1b or pci\ven_8086%dev_2997%subsys_2801103c&rev_02 . SOLUTION: This issue relates to the Local Management Service (LMS) and Serial-over-LAN (SOL) support for Active Management Technology (AMT). Installing Softpaq SP33598.EXE or later will resolve the issue. Click here to download Softpaq SP33598.EXE .
