HP Color LaserJet 2600n Series Printers - How to Download and Update the Print Driver for a Network Connected Printer
Introduction
Use the following instructions to download and update the network connected printer driver for the HP Color LaserJet 2600n Series Printer.
Verify the currently installed driver version
Right-click on the HP Color LaserJet 2600n
driver, left click on Properties.
On the Configure
tab click the HP icon.
How to download the updated driver files

Click the download drivers & software link
on the page.
Choose the correct operating system, see the Figure below. Figure 1: Driver download page

If you are printing to the printer through a TCP/IP address, do not choose the “plug and Play bundle�?, download the driver only file. |
Download and save the file to your computer, the desktop is recommended for ease of locating this file.
Double-click the file (clj2600hpwin98me2kxp2003-en.exe)
to unzip it.
Accept the license agreement, click Next.
Click Next
on the screen which indicates where the files will be saved, note this location (c:\programfiles\hewlett-packard\color LaserJet 2600 drivers
).
Click Finish
on the InstallShield
wizard.
How to update the printer driver
Open the printers window.
Right click on the existing HP Color LaserJet 2600n
print driver, left click on Properties.
On the Advanced
tab, click New Driver.
Click Next
on the wizard welcome screen.
On the printer driver selection window, click Have Disk
.
Click the Browse
button and browse to the location of the driver files (c:\programfiles\hewlett-packard\color LaserJet 2600 drivers
).
Choose the .inf file, clj2600.inf
, click Open.
The Install From Disk
window will indicate the location the files will be taken from, click OK.
The Printer Driver Selection
window should indicate the correct printer, click Next.
Click Finish
to start the file update.
Check the driver, as indicated above, to verify the driver version has been updated.
