HP Officejet Pro K850 Series - Replacing the Printheads
Introduction
This document provides information on how to replace a printhead.
A printhead might need replacing when print quality issues cannot be resolved by cleaning the printheads, or when the Power light is on, and the Printhead light and one or more of the color
indicator lights blink.

Replace the printheads
Use the following instructions to replace the printheads in your printer.
Open the top cover.
Lift the printhead latch.

Lift the handle of a printhead. Use the handle to pull the printhead out of the slot.

Remove the new printhead from the package, and then remove the protective caps.

Insert the printhead into the color-coded slot. Press down firmly on the printhead to ensure proper
contact.

Pull the printhead latch all the way forward, and then press down to ensure that the latch is
properly engaged. You might have to apply some pressure to engage the latch.

Close the top cover.
Wait while the printer initializes the printheads and prints the alignment pages.
