Also, if possible, it would likely be beneficial to explain the reason behind this situation... (a stock 500 is PCL3GUI, which will never run out of memory, hence no memory upgrade slot on the printer.... once HP-GL/2 is added, so is the possibility that the printer MIGHT run out of memory, therefore the HP-GL/2 card gives you a memory upgrade slot)... Even if it were possible, there would be no performance gain by adding additional memory to a 500 without the HP-GL/2 card.
