HP LaserJet 1200 and 3200 Series Printers - Changing the Default Font from Regular Courier to Dark Courier

ISSUE:
How do I change the printer's default Courier Font Type (Regular) to Dark Courier on the HP Laser Jet 1200/1220 or 3200 printer?
SOLUTION:
Follow these steps to change the default Courier Font type from Regular Courier to Dark Courier:
  1. Select Start, Programs , HP LaserJet 1200 (1220 or 3200 as appropriate) from the Windows desktop.
  2. Select Tools , HP Device Configuration Utility .
  3. Locate Select the Print tab and click the Print Quality tab.
  4. In the Print Quality tab, locate the Courier Font Type options. You have the option of selecting the Regular or Dark option with a radio button. Click the Dark radio button.
  5. Click OK to download the default font change to the printer.
  6. To verify that the change was successful, print a Self-Test/Configuration Page from the printer. The Print Settings should reflect the changes that were made - Courier = Dark.
NOTE: Setting the Courier Font Type default only affects print jobs. The default setting does not affect copy jobs.
