Printer/copier convergence
The HP LaserJet 8150 MFP:
  • Provides fast, convenient, walk-up digital copying
  • Offers advanced paper handling, including electronic collation, dual-scan heads, and automatic stapling
  • Easily converts and sends paper documents to e-mail or fax
  • Offers Windows NT Authentication.
There also is an upgrade kit for the HP LaserJet 8000, 8100 or 8150 printers, which includes a copy module, additional 32 MB DIMM, hard drive, and send to e-mail.
Performance
The HP LaserJet 8150 series printers print at 32 pages per minute (ppm) with a different processor at (83 MHz memory bus) and a faster Jetdirect Card (Model J4169A) (2 megabit per second). PMC-Sierra RM (formerly known as QED) 5261 is the model of the processor and it is 250 MHz. The RM 5261 processor is based on the MIPS RISC architecture. It supports the MIPS IV instruction set. It is specified as a "Dual issue, superscalar microprocessor." This means it can issue and process one integer math instruction and one floating point math instruction at the same time. It has 32 Kbytes instruction and 32 Kbytes Data caches built into the processor. The processor is a 64-bit processor. This Jetdirect card is four times faster than the HP Jetdirect Card (Model J3113A) for the HP LaserJet 8100 printer.
Connectivity
  • 3 EIO (enhanced input/output) slots
  • HP Jetdirect EIO cards, Ethernet (10Base-T, 10Base2), Token Ring, Fast Ethernet 10/100Base-TX, USB, Serial, and Local Talk

Paper weight equivalence table
Use this table to determine approximate equivalent points in weight specifications other than U.S. bond weight. For example, to determine the equivalent of 20-lb. U.S. bond weight paper in U.S. cover weight, locate the bond weight (in row 3, second column) and scan across the row to the cover weight (in the fourth column). The equivalent is 28 lbs.
