Printer description
The HP LaserJet 4000 family printer is a speedy, 17 ppm laser printer that offers 600 dpi printing, 1200 dpi printing at half-engine speed, fast first page out, and improved image quality for "picture-grade" images. Software solutions are the fastest, easiest, and most comprehensive in the industry. The HP LaserJet 4000 family printer is designed to work with some of the most popular operating systems, including standalone DOS, Windows 3.1x, Windows 95 and Windows 98, Windows NT 3.51 and 4.0, Macintosh, and OS/2. The HP LaserJet 4000 family printer is rated for a duty cycle of up to 65,000 pages per month and comes with a one-year warranty (return to HP or HP-Authorized Service Dealer).

Memory information
The HP LaserJet 4000 family printer has three dual in-line memory module (DIMM) slots for upgrading with:
  • More printer memory: DIMMs are available in 4, 8, 16, and 32 MB, for a maximum of 100 MB.
  • Flash memory DIMMs, available in 2 and 4 MB. Unlike standard printer memory, flash DIMMs can be used to permanently store downloaded items in the HP LaserJet 4000 family printer, even when the printer is off.

The Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has implemented regulations for laser products manufactured since August 1, 1976. Compliance is mandatory for products marketed in the United States. The printer is certified as a "Class 1" laser product under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Radiation Performance Standard according to the Radiation Control for Health and Safety Act of 1968.
