Printer description
The HP LaserJet 6L printer is a speedy, 6 ppm laser printer which offers 600-by-600 dpi resolution with HP's exclusive REt. The HP LaserJet 6L printer is designed to work with some of the most popular operating systems, including DOS, Windows 3.1x, Windows 95/Windows 98, and Windows NT 4.0. It comes standard with one high-speed, parallel bidirectional IEEE 1284-compliant interface and is expandable for network connection by HP's popular HP Jetdirect EX Plus print servers. The HP LaserJet 6L printer is rated for a duty cycle of up to 6,000 pages per month and comes with a one-year warranty (HP Authorized Service Dealer or HP Express Exchange in the U.S. and Canada).

Software information
Before using the HP LaserJet 6L printer family with any software programs, the printer's software must be installed first. The printer’s software includes two printer drivers that support both Microsoft Windows 3.1x and Microsoft Windows 95. The printer’s software will automatically select the optimal printer driver based on the system configuration of the computer.

Laser safety statement
The Center for Devices and Radiological Health (CDRH) of the U.S. Food and Drug Administration has implemented regulations for laser products manufactured since August 1, 1976. Compliance is mandatory for products marketed in the United States. This printer is certified as a "Class 1" laser product under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services (DHHS) Radiation Performance Standard according to the Radiation Control for Health and Safety Act of 1968. Since radiation emitted inside this printer is completely confined within protective housings and external covers, the laser beam cannot escape during any phase of normal user operation.
