What does “limited lifetime? mean?
In the above Limited Warranty Statement, HP defines limited lifetime as the normal working life of the product. Owing to variations in individual usage, there is no definitive lifetime period that will apply equally to all customers. For warranty purposes, "normal working life" for AIT equates to 20,000 end to end passes or 140 full back ups (FVB) or combination of FVB and Restores (whichever is soonest). Additionally AIT products can be archived for up to 30 years as long as the correct environmental conditions are met as outlined in the
HP StorageWorks AIT - HP AIT Media Care
document.
