HP DeskJet 350 Series Printer - Battery Pack Installation and Use

Overview
The HP DeskJet 350 series printer uses a Ni-MH battery. The battery is shipped in a discharge condition and must be fully charged before use. No external charger is needed to re-charge the battery pack due to the printer's built-in fast re-charger. The battery lasts approximately 30% longer than the Ni-Cad battery used by the HP DeskJet 340 series printer.
NOTE: Use ONLY the Ni-MH battery pack (C3394A) designed specifically for use with the HP DeskJet 350 series printer.
Battery characteristics

Charging the battery pack
To charge a battery pack, the battery pack must be installed in the printer and the printer must be connected to a proper power source. The printer does not need to be powered on in order to charge the battery pack. Use of the printer while the battery charges may increase the time required to fully re-charge the battery.
The first charge (from empty to full) requires approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes. Subsequent recharges will take slightly more than 1 hour. Do not use an external charger to recharge the battery pack. Use only the printer's built-in charger.
The battery can be charged within a temperature range of 0 degrees C (32 degrees F) to 40 degrees C (104 degrees F). The battery may be warm after charging or use. This is normal.
When a fully discharged battery is removed from the printer, set the charge condition indicator at the end of the battery so that the red dot is visible. This tells you the condition of the battery.
NOTE: The Ni-MH battery is resistant to "Memory Effect" issues typically experienced by Ni-Cad batteries. Therefore, recharging the battery before it is empty will not affect its performance.
Safety considerations
  • Do not dispose of the used battery in fire. The battery may explode.
  • Do not directly connect the positive (+) and negative (-) terminals, as it may cause a short circuit.
  • Do not attempt to disassemble the battery .
To prevent damage to the battery
  • Do not drop the battery or expose it to any other mechanical shock.
  • Use the battery only with the specified Hewlett-Packard printer.
To prolong battery life
  • Keep the terminals clean.
  • Follow the instructions provided with your Hewlett-Packard printer.
