Preinstalled Software
This section lists what software in preloaded on the Compaq Evo N600c series Notebook.
The system comes preinstalled with a choice of either Windows 2000 or Windows 98 Second Edition (SE). Windows NT is not available as a preinstalled option, but was shipped on a separate CD with Windows 2000 systems.
The system also includes the following preloaded software: Compaq Management Agents for Portables

Reloading the Default Software Configurations
If necessary, you can use the QuickRestore CD kit to restore any or all of the software that was preinstalled on the system. The QuickRestore CD kit is included with the computer, and contains the following components: System Recovery software – restores the system to the preinstalled factory configuration
To restore the system to the preinstalled factory configuration, insert the QuickRestore CD into the appropriate drive. Restart the System and follow the instructions on the QuickRestore CD

Doing a full QuickRestore will erase all data on the hard drive and reset the notebook to the preinstalled factory configuration. Make sure to save all important data to another storage device before doing the QuickRestore. |
Application Recovery software – selectively restores applications and drivers that were preinstalled on the system
| CAUTION:

To prevent file corruption and to ensure that the correct drivers install during the restore process do not restore software while the computer is docked in a docking base, plug the computer into an electrical outlet and do not unplug it, and do not shut down the computer until the restore process is completed. |
