HP L1506/L1706/L1906 Flat Panel Monitors - Monitor Goes Blank After Every Reboot

ISSUE:
When HP L1506, L1706, or L1906 Flat Panel Monitors are connected to a Compaq dc5700 Desktop PC, the monitor goes blank after every reboot. If the monitor power cable is unplugged and plugged back in, the issue is temporarily resolved.
SOLUTION:
Try the following steps on the monitor:
  1. Go to Menu .
  2. Select Management .
  3. Select DDC\CI Support .
  4. Select Off .
  5. Save and Exit.
The above method is a temporary workaround.
NOTE: Display Data Channel (DDC) is a digital connection between a computer display and a graphics adapter that allows the display to communicate its specifications to the adapter. The standard was created by VESA. DDC/CI (CI = command interface) is an extension to DDC specified by VESA in August 1998. It allows a computer with a suitably designed graphics adapter to adjust monitor parameters such as brightness and color balance, or to initiate degaussing. DDC/CI monitors are sometimes supplied with an external color sensor, to allow automatic calibration of the monitor's color balance. Some tilting DDC/CI monitors support an auto pivot function, where a rotation sensor in the monitor enables the operating system to keep the display upright as the monitor is moved between its portrait and landscape positions. More information can be found at the latest specification, "Display Data Channel Command Interface (DDC/CI) Standard- Version 1.1", October 2004 (VESA document VESA-2004-10): http://www.vesa.org/Standards/summary/2004_10a.htm
