HP OfficeJet, PSC, and Photosmart All-in-One Products - Install a Network-connected and a USB-connected All-in-One on the Same Computer

Issue
When adding a USB-connected all-in-one to a system that already has a network-connected all-in-one installed, the new installation may remove the network installation. The network printer must be re-installed.
This document describes how to connect one of the network-capable printers in Table 1 and one of the USB-connected printers in Table 2 to the same computer.

Solution
Download the network driver version 4.7.1 for the Officejet 7210 from the HP Website and then install both all-in-ones.
NOTE: Download the network driver for the Officejet 7210 even if you have one of the other network-capable products listed above in Table 1.
Before completing the instructions below, completely uninstall the drivers for both the USB-connected and the network-connected all-in-one.
Follow the instructions below:
  1. Click the link below to download the network driver. After downloading, return to these instructions.
  2. Select your version of Windows.
  3. Download HP Full Feature software/driver: Network Support driver version 4.7.1 .
  4. Install the USB-connected all-in-one first. Locate the icon for the downloaded driver file on the Desktop and double-click it.
If you cannot locate the downloaded icon on the Desktop, click Start , click Run , and type the following on the Open line: c:\temp\HP_WebRelease\setup.exe . Click OK .
Follow the instructions that display on the screen to install the driver. Connect the all-in-one to the computer with the USB cable when directed.
  5. When the driver has installed, send a test print from a software program such as Notepad to make sure the driver is communicating with the USB-connected printer correctly.
  6. Connect the network cable between the computer and the second net-work capable all-in-one.
  7. Click Start , click Run , and type the following on the Open line: c:\temp\HP_WebRelease\setup.exe . Click OK .
  8. Select Add a Device.
  9. Select Network for the Connection type.
  10. Follow the instructions that display on the screen to install the driver for the network-connected all-in-one.
If you need detailed help to install either printer, consult the User Guide for your product.
