HP LaserJet 1100 Series Printer - Virtual Memory Error When Installing Software on Microsoft Windows 2000 Systems
During the installation of the HP LaserJet 1100 software on a Microsoft Windows 2000 system, an error message is displayed indicating that the PC does not have enough virtual memory to complete the installation. In some cases, the error messages mentions a a 3 MB limit.
Temporarily adjust the virtual memory values on the PC to a minimum of 8 MB and a maximum of 16 MB. Right-click My Computer
on the Windows desktop and select Properties
from the drop-down menu.
Click the Advanced
tab.
Click the Performance Options
button.
Click Change
in the Virtual Memory section.
Note the original values for the minimum (initial) and maximum settings for paging file size.
Edit paging file values to Initial = 8 MB
and Maximum = 16 MB
.
Click the Set
button.
Reboot the PC and install the HP LaserJet 1100 software.
