5.25 inch floppy drive support

Issue

• PC BIOS firmware does not detect 5.25 inch (1.2 MB) floppy drives
• 25 inch floppy drive detected as a 3.5 inch floppy drive

Cause:

The BIOS does not support 5.25 inch floppy drives.

It is recommended that an older PC be used with a 5.25 inch and 3.5 inch floppy drive installed. Convert the data on 5.25 inch floppies over to 3.5 inch floppies for use on the VL400. At the same time consideration should be made to phase out any PCs or other computing systems using 5.25 inch floppy disks as this technology is no longer sold in the computing industry.
