CUSTOMER ADVISORY: HP StorageWorks P2000 G3 MSA Array Systems-How to change additional Service Account password

DESCRIPTION
HP StorageWorks P2000
G3 MSA Array Systems are shipped with a required services account
with the account name "admin" and the default password "!admin".
This account has necessary privileges that are used by internal processes
running on the array. If the “admin�? account raises a security concern,
the "admin" account password can be modified by using the Command
Line Interface (CLI), through telnet or SSH, to change the default
password.
SCOPE
This issue affects all HP StorageWorks
P2000 G3 MSA Array Systems.
RESOLUTION
Apply the following
steps to change the “admin�? password using CLI or the telnet log in
the “admin�? account with the following credentials:
#
login: admin
# Password: !admin
Enter the
following command:
#set
password
Password: <new
password>
Re-enter password: <new password>
Success: Command completed successfully. (admin) - The password was
changed.
NOTE:
These steps should be followed when
the administrator restores factory settings with the
restore defaults
command.
The
restore defaults
command will restore the services “admin�? account
with the default password. Follow the above steps to change the “admin�?
password when the
restore defaults
command is used.
