Notice: AXL300 PCI Accelerator Card is not Supported in a ProLiant Server Operating in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 Environment

The AXL300 PCI Accelerator Card is no longer supported in ProLiant servers operating in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 environment. The Microsoft Windows 2000 driver for the AXL300, which was previously recommended for use in a Microsoft Windows Server 2003 environment, is no longer supported for this purpose. This has become necessary because of the progress in security applications that implement the use of the enhanced security features offered in Windows 2003, and the lack of this level of support in the Windows 2000 specifications for Windows 2000 drivers.
DETAILS
When Windows Server 2003 was originally released, it was acceptable to use the Windows 2000 drivers for the AXL300 PCI Accelerator Card with the understanding that eventually the Windows 2000 drivers would prove deficient as application development progressed in the Windows Server 2003 environment. This has become the case with the drivers for this product and HP does not plan to develop a fully compliant Windows Server 2003 driver for this product.
In addition, HP does not plan to introduce a replacement product. As a result, alternative solutions must be obtained from a third-party manufacturer. To assist customers, HP has conducted a thorough review of a third-party product from Cavium Networks and recommends the Cavium Nitrox XL NHB Accelerator Card (CN1010-NHB-E) as a viable replacement for the AXL300. Support for this product is not available from HP and must be obtained from Cavium Networks. Additional product information is available from the Cavium Networks web site at the following URL:
